Private Study Room

You are welcome to study wherever there is space in our libraries. Visit our locations to find a seat.

There are two enclosed study rooms available to book free of charge at Bargoonga Nganjin, North Fitzroy Library. The spaces are called Study Room A and Study Room B.

Richmond Library also has two study booths available to book free of charge. The spaces are called Large Booth and Small Booth .

Study room/booth rules

  • You can only use these spaces for work, study and research purposes.
  • You can use the space if it's unoccupied, but you must leave them if there is a booking.

How to book

You can book up to seven days in advance.

In order to make a booking you will require a library membership and your:

  • library membership number
  • library membership password or PIN.

We'll send a confirmation email after you create the booking.

To book a Seminar Room, Community Room (Bagung Magali), Group Study Room, or Meeting Room you must make a booking with our venues team.

Booking conditions

  • A maximum of two hours per day is available.
  • A key is not required, proof of your online booking is enough.
  • Whiteboard pens, erasers, consumables, laptops and AV equipment are not provided by the library.
  • Study spaces are quiet spaces unsupervised by library staff, please be respectful of others and keep noise to a minimum.
  • Study spaces must be left in a tidy condition.
  • Do not obstruct the doors of the rooms.
  • The Large Booth at Richmond Library has an automatic door, which automatically closes after 25 seconds.
