Lower Johnston Street District is set to transform into a Halloween playground on Saturday 31st October 2026, as LOJO Festival returns from 10am until late. Stretching from Nicholson Street in Abbotsford all the way to Fitzroy, the annual street-wide celebration will bring together local venues, traders, musicians and creatives for a day-and-night programme of food, drinks, music, shopping and spooky surprises.
Now in its fourth year, LOJO Festival is a signature event for the Lower Johnston Street District – a creative neighbourhood and food, culture and music destination home. This year’s Halloween edition invites businesses along and around Johnston Street to host their own themed activations, with participating venues rolling out Halloween decor, seasonal specials, DJs, live music and oneoff events throughout the day.
Participating venues include Bodriggy, House of Plants, Dr Morse, Beef’s Barbers, Dutch Vinyl, Park Hotel, The Retreat, Mavis the Grocer and Lulie Tavern and more.
From brewpubs and bars to record stores, barbers and local makers, LOJO celebrates the independent businesses that make Lower Johnston Street one of Melbourne’s most distinctive creative precincts. Visitors can expect a choose-your-own-adventure format: wander between venues, discover special offers and activations, and stay for live music and DJs as the Halloween festivities continue into the night.
With Halloween falling on festival day, costumes are strongly encouraged. Whether visitors arrive in full spooky splendour or simply embrace the festive atmosphere, LOJO 2026 promises a playful, community-led celebration of the precinct’s food, culture and music scene. Each venue will announce its own programming closer to the date, so attendees are encouraged to follow LOJO and their favourite local businesses for the latest updates.
LOJO Festival is proudly brought to you through the City of Yarra Quick Response Grants Program.
