In partnership with the Victorian Government, Yarra City Council is activating a vacant former bank in Victoria Street for a community project known as the Learning Bank.

The Learning Bank is a new community space located in Victoria Street, Richmond, for residents and businesses to connect, create and learn.

Programs

The Learning Bank is a bookable learning space that hosts programs to support business and community needs.

You can book one of our offices through our Libraries booking system (your library card barcode is required). These are small meeting rooms suitable for meetings, interviews or study for up to 4 people.

Business training events

Join us at the Learning Bank for peer learning sessions designed for local business owners interested in upskilling. Topics include radical collaboration, avoiding burnout, cybersecurity, and more! 

Creating an Authentic Experience Based Business

Ha from Otao Kitchen Cooking School presents the benefits of experience-based businesses and shares his journey to create an award winning cooking experience in Yarra.

Thread Together store

Thread Together are a not-for-profit organisation that collects end-of-line brand new stock from fashion retailers that would otherwise go to landfill and distributes them to those in need.

Case workers or local community support organisations can book an appointment for their client to shop for their client for free at the Thread Together store at the Learning Bank.

This service is only available to Yarra Residents over the age of 16.

Thread Together’s service is delivered via registered charities and social service agencies. Organisations can sign up to receive clothing for their clients on the Thread Together website.

Volunteer with the Thread Together store

Help vulnerable community members while building your retail, fashion and customer service experience. Expressions of interest open until Friday 20 October, 2023.

ATM Café by North Richmond Community Health

The ATM café is a social enterprise café within the Learning Bank space operating via a street window. The café focuses on health and cultural diversity through the food and drinks menu they provide.

North Richmond Community Health are a not-for-profit centre dedicated to supporting local employment and providing free access to learning and training opportunities for its community members.
