Every Saturday, Gleadell Street in Richmond is transformed into a bustling fresh food market, overflowing with seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh bread, herbs and other gourmet delights. 

Gleadell Street Market is owned and operated by Yarra City Council.

Opening hours

The market is open on Saturdays from 7am to 1pm. 

Please note: not all stallholders are present at the market each week.

Plastic free market

The market is plastic-free, so remember to bring your reusable shopping bag to carry your purchases.

Stallholders are not allowed to provide any plastic bags (including single & multi use bags, biodegradable bags, zip lock bags and barrier bags) with the exception of pre-packaged items from a third party, barrier bags for poultry, meat or fish.

Getting there

Gleadell Street is 15 minutes east of Melbourne CBD. Catch tram 48 or 75 and disembark at Stop 19 – Richmond Town Hall.
