Pensioner rebates

Find out if you're eligible for a pensioner rebate and how to apply.

Rebates available for 2024/25

  • $259.50 municipal concession (or rates rebate)
  • $50 concession on the Fire Services Property Levy
  • $209.70 as an additional concession

If your application is accepted, all three rebates will be applied. Rebates are only applied to your primary place of residence.

Eligibility

You may be eligible for rebates if you hold a:

  • Pensioner Concession Card, issued by Centrelink or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs
  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card: War Widow (WW)
  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card: Totally and Permanently Incapacitated (TPI).

To be eligible, you must also:

  • be a named ratepayer on your rates notice, and
  • the property must be your primary place of residence. 

Eligibility is subject to the approval of Centrelink.

You must hold a pensioner concession card to be eligible
If you receive unemployment benefits, Youth Allowance or hold a health care card, you must also hold a pensioner concession card to be eligible for pensioner rebates.
