You need a land information certificate if you're selling your property. This ensures that the settlement of sale is correct.
You can ask your solicitor or conveyancer to apply for the land information certificate.
Fees
As of 1 July 2024, the cost of a land information certificate is:
- $29.72 for standard processing (allow 5 business days)
- $77.88 for urgent certificates required within 24 hours
What a landing information certificate contains
A land information certificate provides information including:
- all current valuations
- rates (including arrears and interest)
- property debts
- orders and notices made under the Local Government Act or the Local Law
- special charges (if any)
- flood levels (if any)
Anyone can apply for a land information certificate. However, if you are using a legal practitioner or conveyancer, they will apply for you.
