Imi Oliver’s curious creatures evoke wonder and appeal to the imagination. As if stepping out from a storybook or escaping this very library display, each carries an untold narrative, inviting audiences to place themselves into that role of the storyteller.
The exhibition title, Even the Rabbits Were There is intentionally open-ended, providing only a fragment of what has taken place and what will follow. Drawing on her practice as an artist, maker and teacher, Oliver’s works invite curiosity, joy, and a little mystery.
