Live music parking permits

To support our local live music scene, we offer a special parking permit to help musicians load and unload equipment at registered live music venues.

Leaps & Bounds Music Festival

We understand the challenges musicians face when loading heavy instruments and gear.

The Live Music Parking Permit is designed to support our vibrant local music scene by providing registered live venues with transferable permits that musicians can use for quick, compliant loading and unloading within existing Loading Bays near venues.

Important information

Live venues that are currently registered with Music Victoria.

The venue is responsible for managing and distributing the transferable permits to musicians for their loading and unloading needs. Musicians must return the permit to the venue immediately after use.

There will be a replacement fee for each permit if they are lost.

A maximum of two (2) transferable permits will be issued per eligible venue.

These permits are intended exclusively for musicians to use for the purpose of loading and unloading musical instruments. These cannot be used for staff to park.

The permit allows a vehicle to park:

  • Within an existing loading zone nearby the venue.
  • Where a time restriction is posted (e.g. 15-minute loading zone), you must park in accordance with that prescribed time restriction.
  • Where no time restriction is prescribed, the vehicle may park for no more than 30 minutes.

Display and Cost

  • The permit must be clearly displayed on the vehicle's dashboard while in use.
  • The Live Music Parking Permit is provided free of charge.
  • No vehicle registration details are required for the permit, making it easily transferable between musicians' vehicles.

No. A vehicle must park for no more than 30 minutes where no time restriction is prescribed, or in accordance with the prescribed time restriction (e.g. 15 minutes) if one is posted. It is for loading/unloading only.

To ensure the benefit targets active live music venues, registration with Music Victoria is a mandatory eligibility requirement for these permits.
