Join the Seniors and Sprouts program

Seniors aged 65+ are invited to join our 7-week program with local kindergartners.

24 Jul 2025

We’re inviting Yarra residents aged 65+ to take part in the Seniors and Sprouts program - an initiative that connects senior community members with 4-year-old kindergarten children for shared learning and connection.

Each week, participating seniors will join a local kinder class for an hour of guided interaction.

Why get involved?

Research shows that programs like Seniors and Sprouts can bring real benefits for both children and older adults.

  • For children: greater empathy, improved social skills, and respect for older generations.

  • For seniors: improved quality of life, reduced isolation, and enhanced wellbeing and cognitive function.
