Councillor Crossland was first elected to Yarra City Council in 2020 and re-elected in 2024. Councillor Crossland served as Deputy Mayor from November 2021 to November 2023, and Mayor from November 2023 to October 2024.
Councillor Crossland represents Curtain Ward, which includes Princess Hill, Carlton North and part of Fitzroy North. Councillor Crossland has lived in Yarra for much of his adult life, and along with his husband is a foster carer and proud parent to two children.
Councillor Crossland has a legacy of working collaboratively to achieve great things for our community to thrive, including championing safer streets and routes to schools, climate action, accessible transport, better planning outcomes, affordable housing, and making Yarra better for local businesses.
In 2025/26, Councillor Crossland is serving as a member of the:

- Heritage and Planning Advisory Committee
Councillor Crossland is a town planning, transport engineering and urban design professional, with extensive experience across the Victorian public service.
