Community Awards Selection Panel

All about the Community Awards Selection Panel, its members and its work to recommend recipients of the Yarra Community Awards.

The Yarra Community Awards Selection Panel judge the nominations for our annual Community Awards - a key initiative of our vision to celebrate and acknowledge the outstanding contributions of the everyday heroes who make Yarra such a wonderful place to live, work and visit.
 
Panel members are representatives who reflect Yarra’s diversity and have a strong connection to the City of Yarra.

The Community Awards Selection Panel:

  • agrees on the judging criteria in each award category
  • assesses the nominations
  • selects a winner in each category
  • sends its recommendations to Yarra City Council’s Chief Executive Officer

Panel members are representatives who reflect Yarra’s diversity and have a strong connection to the City of Yarra.

The selection panel comprises 5 community representatives who assess nominations based on:

  • their contribution to the Yarra community
  • the positive impact they have made
  • their leadership and work as a positive role model.
