Community gardens

Joining a community garden is a great way to connect with your local community and learn more about gardening. Find out where your nearest community garden is and join in!

Joining a community garden is a great way to connect with your local community, grow fresh food, learn and share skills and spend time in nature.

Yarra City Council is proud to support a number of community gardens on public land. We do not manage these gardens directly, each garden is managed by a volunteer garden management committee.

If you want to be part of one of Yarra's existing community gardens, please contact the garden management committee.

Neighbourhood Houses with community gardens

Community gardens on Department of Health and Human Service (DHHS) land are managed by Cultivating Community and tended by the residents.

Please contact Cultivating Community if you live in public housing in the City of Yarra and are interested in joining one of the gardens.
