You can apply for a tradesperson parking permit if you are:
- a property owner or resident doing minor works at a property in Yarra
- a tradesperson undertaking minor works at a property in Yarra.
You cannot get a tradesperson parking permit for:
- commercial property works
- major works that require a building or planning permit.

How to apply
Number of allowed permits
Tradesperson parking permits are valid for up to one month only, with a maximum of 3 permits within a 12-month period.
If the works are likely to take longer, then you will need to apply for a work zone permit.
What documents to include
This table shows what documents you need to provide with your application:

Receiving your permit
Permits can take between 5 and 10 business days to process and up to 14 days to arrive by post.
We will decline applications that we receive with less than 5 business days' notice.
If you need a permit immediately, apply in person at a customer service centre. Bring a completed tradesperson parking permit application form [ PDF, 269.63 KB] and all relevant documents.
Fees
From 1 July 2024, the following fees will be applicable;
- Tradesperson permit per day - $22
- Tradesperson permit per week - $65
- Tradesperson permit per month - $216.50
Where can tradespeople park?
The permit allows tradespeople to park in the street on the permit and in two surrounding streets.
The tradesperson must obey all parking restrictions and prohibitions.
Replace your permit
We can replace your permit for a fee of $22.
If your permit was stolen and you can provide a police report, there will be no fee.
You can submit a replacement request online or visit one of our customer service centres.
