Economic development in North Richmond
We're working to make the Victoria Street precinct a safer and more welcoming place for everyone.
The Victoria Street precinct is a vibrant dining, shopping and cultural destination. However, the area faces challenges around public safety, liveability and economic prosperity, which are often the result of drug-related activity.
We're working with residents, businesses, state government and community organisations to make Victoria Street and North Richmond a safer, more attractive and welcoming place for everyone.
Current activities
We are currently:
- working on improved lighting in and around Victoria Street
- cleaning Victoria Street and surrounding streets daily
- emptying street bins daily
- cleaning posters and graffiti from our assets (bins, signs and poles) daily*
- collecting syringes through regular patrols and responsive callouts.
*This does not include private property such as shopfronts.
