Yarra City Council has appointed Modular by SHAPE for the design and construction of the Yambla Pavilion redevelopment project.
The upgrades, which are set to commence in 2025, aim to create a more inclusive community sporting facility, improved amenities and better public access to Quarries Park.
Mayor of Yarra, Councillor Stephen Jolly says that council is committed to creating more inclusive sporting spaces so everyone can take part in community sport.
Upgrading these facilities will be a huge boost to soccer clubs in the City of Yarra and especially to women and girls to encourage them to take part, he says.
By building separate changerooms, all gender public toilets and baby change facilities, we’re ensuring women and girls can get involved in community sport by providing them with the quality facilities they need to thrive, the Mayor says.
The upgrades will also include a new sporting pavilion, club storage, a first aid room, an umpires’ room, a kiosk and a new, social space for post-match gatherings.
Construction and installation will be completed by approximately December 2025 in readiness for the 2026 soccer season.
