Works commence on the Fairfield Park Play Space upgrade
Fairfield Park will have more diverse play equipment for toddlers, preschoolers, and older children, including water and nature play elements, with construction beginning on a new play space.
The play space will feature a tree top walk with raised platforms and a variety of bridges, as well as slides, firefighters’ poles, horizontal bars and balance beams.
A rotating disc, climbing stack and an in-ground trampoline will also be incorporated into the playground, along with accessible baby swing sets so children of all ages can join in the fun!
Mayor Stephen Jolly said the park reflects what the community was calling out for.
“The play equipment at Fairfield Park was old, tired and out of date,” he says.
“The community told us they needed new, more interesting and accessible play equipment – and that's what we’re delivering,” he says.
The works will be completed in July, pending weather conditions.
