A new public open space in Cremorne has opened this week, thanks to a collaboration between Council and the Kangan Institute.
Located in front of the heritage listed State School building at 85 Cremorne Street, this new public open space offering features native greenery with seasonal colours, bespoke art- work and seating.
The CEO of Kangan Institute, Sally Curtain, said “the Institute welcomes the opportunity to work with Yarra City Council to create a small open space haven for the community in the heart of Cremorne”.
City of Yarra Mayor, Cr Stephen Jolly, said “this offering will provide some much-needed open space for residents and visitors while Council actively pursues opportunities for more permanent open space in Cremorne”.
We encourage the community to take advantage of the space. Council will monitor how it’s being used over time and make improvements according to your feedback.
The community is invited to join with Councillors and representatives from the Kangan Institute to mark the opening with some light refreshments between 4 and 6 pm on 29 April.
