Seeking your feedback as we develop our new Local Law

The Local Law is set by Yarra Council to address issues and protect the health and safety of the community.

Our current Local Law will be expiring on 1 September 2026, and we are currently in the process of reviewing and updating it to ensure the new document includes changes in legislation and reflects contemporary issues experienced by our growing community.

Some examples of what local law covers are the feeding of animals and birds, overflowing bins, busking and objects blocking footpaths.

As part of the review, we are now seeking community feedback to inform the development of our new Local Law.

This will provide us with a better understanding of any current and emerging issues and provide an opportunity for you to share ideas to improve the local laws in Yarra, particularly to ensure it meets the needs of everyone in our growing community.

Have your say
