Standing for Council

Standing for Council

Council itself is unable to provide advice or assistance to anyone wanting to stand for Council, but encourages interested persons to consider standing for office. Becoming a Councillor is an act of community service that can be incredibly rewarding and every candidate makes a significant contribution to the strength of local democracy.

Retiring Councillor Claudia Nguyen was recently asked to share her thoughts on her experience as a Councillor as part of the Municipal Association of Victoria's Stand for Council series. See her response in this video.
