The State Government has committed to providing free kindergarten to all children in Victoria. This new kindergarten facility in Collingwood will help to meet the needs of the local community and help make their access to kindergarten easier.
Yallabirrang Kindergarten is a prefabricated modular building that can accommodate up to 66 children, located on the grounds of Collingwood College, on the northern side of Vere Street.
The kindergarten is funded by the Victorian Department of Education and is a joint project between Yarra City Council and the Victorian School Building Authority, with the support of Collingwood College.

What we offer
We see children as capable, active participants in their lives and support them in their learning through their play. We respect children as individuals and recognise they have a right to be involved in decisions and processes that affect them and are allowed opportunities to make choices about their own learning.
Each learning environment has a term curriculum, which supports this sense of learning through care and play experiences. Focus is on holistic development, including motor, sensory, social, emotional, language and communication skills.
We show our respect for the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Peoples by valuing Traditional knowledges and cultures of this land. Children are encouraged to develop a love for nature through outdoor play and learning about sustainability.
