Each year, we honour local people who make a difference to our community with our Yarra Community Awards. 

These awards are an opportunity to recognise the everyday heroes who make Yarra such a fantastic place to live, work and visit.

Do you know an individual or group who deserve to be recognised? Whether they’re loud and proud or quiet achievers, we want to celebrate them.

Nominating takes less than 10 minutes and could be life changing for an everyday hero. 

The award categories:

• Citizen of the Year (aged 26 years or older)
• Young Citizen of the Year (aged between 12 to 25 years)
• Community Initiative of the Year
• Contributions to Arts
• Contributions to Sport
• Contributions to Heritage
• Contributions to Diversity and Inclusion

Nominations close 11.59pm Sunday 11 September.

Winners in the Citizen, Young Citizen and Community Initiative of the Year categories will win a $500 prize, and winners in each of the remaining categories will win a $250 prize.

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Wednesday 16 November.
