Electric vehicle (EV) charging is now easier and more convenient after 2 new fast-charging stations have been installed in converted parking bays at the Collingwood Library.

These stations are publicly available for use by the whole community.

The stations are powered by 100% renewable energy and are expected to supply up to 50km of range after only 10 minutes of charging.

Yarra Council provided the sites for the EV charging stations, which were installed by Evie Networks with funding through the Federal Government’s Future Fuels Fund.

“The new charging stations help support sustainable transport options in Yarra and play an important role in encouraging more locals to choose an electric vehicle,” said Yarra Mayor Cr Sophie Wade.

“Moving to cars and other vehicles powered by electricity is a sustainable choice that will help reduce carbon emissions.

“Yarra is committed to finding more opportunities to encourage electric vehicle uptake by our residents and businesses.”
