October update

Public Environment Report finalised

More than 80 public submissions were received on the draft Public Environment Report (PER). The PER assesses the impact of the North East Link on threatened species and ecological communities, migratory species, water and the surrounding environment. The public submissions are addressed in the final report, which makes recommendations about environmental outcomes.

The final PER has been released and submitted to the federal Department of the Environment and Energy for review. The final PER can be viewed here.

July update

Yarra Council's submission on the North East Link

Yarra Council has responded to the Victorian Government’s proposal to connect the M80 Ring Road to the Eastern Freeway. Our submission follows the release of a Major Transport Infrastructure Authority report on the potential environmental impacts of the project.

Our submission discusses the areas of greatest concern to the Yarra community, including increased traffic congestion, loss of public open space, and worsening conditions for cyclists, as well as the need to improve public transport options. Our full submission can be viewed here.

Expert witness reports

An Inquiry and Advisory Committee is considering the environmental effects of the proposed North East Link Project.

Expert witness reports from the North East Link Project and other parties are available to view on the Engage Victoria website.

Further details on the project can be found on the North East Link website.
