EV Charging Station and Community Battery coming to Collingwood Leisure Centre

The City of Yarra is excited to inform you of a Community Battery and Electric Vehicle Charging Station will be installed at Collingwood Leisure Centre.

The works will take place in January 2026. It is expected the new charging station will be available for public use in March 2026 following a testing period.

Impact to Leisure Centre Customers

The works are expected to take place for the duration of approximately 3 weeks starting in the first week of January 2026. 

During the work period, there will be impacts to access pathways and accessible ramps as well as street parking to ensure works can be completed safely. 

These include:

• The Accessible ramp on the Mayors Park side of the entrance will be unavailable for use. We encourage all those needing ramp access to park in the Main carpark and utilise the pathway ramp.
• Intermittent disruptions to the footpath on the Mayors Park side of the venue (Traffic Management will be available to assist).
• Car Parking spaces on Turnbull Street will be reduced to ensure a safe work zone.
