Remembrance Day honours all Australians who have served, suffered or died in wars, conflicts and peace operations.

Observed each year on 11 November, it marks the anniversary of the 1918 Armistice that ended fighting in the First World War.

The City of Yarra hosts an annual Remembrance Day service at the Barkly Gardens War Memorial.

Join us for a morning of speeches, an official wreath-laying ceremony and a minute's silence at 11am as we commemorate this day together with Richmond RSL.

Remembrance Day Commemoration: Wednesday 11 November, 10.30-11.30am at Barkly Gardens

RSVP by Monday 26 October 2026

At 11am, a minute of silence will also be observed across Council facilities. Staff and the community members are invited to join us in this reflection.
