Richmond Library Redevelopment
Richmond Library Redevelopment is a multi-year project, with funding allocated in the 2025/26 Budget to determine feasibility.
What we've done
So far, we have:
- Undertaken a review of existing asset reports, documentation and strategies.
- Conducted early engagement with internal stakeholders.
- Undertaken targeted assessments to evaluate the building’s condition, capacity and compliance with current standards, including:
- structural assessments
- various surveys
- asset reviews
- technical assessments
- geotechnical testing
- service infrastructure reviews (electrical, mechanical etc)
- cost planning and lease, licencing
- and library service use analysis.
What's next
Officers will engage an architectural design team to develop multiple high-level concept designs.
Officers will provide report to Council at the end of the 2025-26 financial year.
