“Dill‑be‑din” means “safely look after and protect” in Woi Wurrung, reflecting the kindergarten’s role in nurturing children and teaching care for Country in culturally informed ways.

The name was chosen with Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation, guided by a Wurundjeri Elder and voted on by local kinder children and families.

The upgrades provide a modern and culturally safe learning environment, including:

  • 44 new kindergarten places, supporting growing demand for early‑years education
  • a large outdoor play space with sandpit, mud pit, cubby, yarning circle encouraging creativity, connection and active play
  • Free sessional kinder for 3‑ and 4‑year‑olds through the Victorian Government’s Best Start Best Life reform.

The upgrade was made possible thanks to a $1.589M Victorian Government Building Blocks Grant and $100,000 from Yarra City Council.

The project delivered in partnership with Homes Victoria and Yarra City Council and was officially opened on Friday 4 July 2025 with Minister Enver Erdogan.
