Install solar or a battery
Installing a solar PV system or a battery gives you access to affordable clean energy and means you can get the most out of going all-electric
Why go solar?
Install a solar system at your home or business and reduce your energy bills and greenhouse gas emissions.
You can save up to $1000 a year on energy bills with solar and can benefit up to 25 years. You save even more if your appliances are all electric.
You may be eligible for a government rebate and no-interest loan (up to $1,400 each) for installing solar. Visit Solar Victoria to find out more about solar rebates.
The Yarra Home Energy Upgrades program provides subsidies up to $3,000 for solar and other energy upgrades to eligible Yarra concession card holders.
Is now the time to install a battery?
Installing a battery allows you to use your solar even when the sun isn't shining. You'll import less electricity from the grid and get more free energy from your solar system. In most cases, batteries can be set up to back up some or all of your home or business, so the power stays on in a blackout.
Homes, businesses and community organisations are eligible for the Federal Cheaper Home Batteries program, which provides a 30% rebate on the installation of approved batteries.
