Annettes Place upgrade

An upgraded playground will provide a greater variety of play opportunities for children of different ages and abilities.

An upgraded and accessible play space at Annettes Place

We're improving Annettes Place to enhance the playground's natural setting while making the reserve more welcoming, accessible and enjoyable for children of all ages.

The upgraded park will feature a more clearly defined play space with a greater variety of play opportunities designed to cater to children of different ages and abilities.

New play elements will include:

  • a separate play structure for older and younger children
  • an accessible carousel
  • accessible basket swing
  • 21 new trees
  • 400 new plantings
  • new bike hoops
  • more clearly defined areas for dog walking.

To support a diverse range of activities, picnic areas will be integrated into the play space, creating more welcoming places for families and friends to gather.

Frequently asked questions

The playground is due for an upgrade as the equipment is old, tired and out of date. The Play Space Strategy guides Council’s decision making around existing play space upgrades, new equipment and opportunities for different types of play. The draft Play Space Strategy 10-year Priority Play Space Plan rated this project as being a high priority. The objective of the upgrade is to improve accessibility, play value, amenity and offer a greater range of play opportunities.

Construction is scheduled for the 2026-27 financial year upon funding approval.

Yes, this park will still be dog off-leash. The Council Order governs rules around dogs in parks. Annettes Place is designated as a dogs allowed space. A change to this status would require a change to the Council Order which is not part of the scope of works proposed.
