Proposed Road Discontinuance at 50 Little Gore, Fitzroy

PROPOSED ROAD DISCONTINUANCE

PUBLIC NOTICE INVITING SUBMISSIONS UNDER SECTION 223

Yarra City Council (Council), acting under clause 3 of schedule 10 to the Local Government Act 1989 (Act), proposes to discontinue the airbridge abutting 50 Little Gore Street, Fitzroy, being the 14.1m2 parcel of land shown cross-hatched on the plan below, being part of the land contained in Memorial Book C no. 022 (in AP243) (Gore Street Airbridge).

The proposal is that Council discontinue the Gore Street Airbridge and transfer it to the owner of the adjoining property at 50 Little Gore Street, Fitzroy (Adjoining Owner) in exchange for the transfer of the airbridge adjoining 78 Webb Street, Fitzroy, shown hatched on the plan below (Webb Street Airbridge), from the Adjoining Owner to Council. 

The gazettal plan extract below shows the Gore Street Airbridge and Webb Street Airbridge alongside a corresponding site plan, with the Gore Street Airbridge shown outlined red and the Webb Street Airbridge shown yellow.

Any person may make a submission on the proposal. 

Any person wishing to make a submission under section 223 of the Act must do so in writing by Friday 11 September 2026. 

All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act. Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, and may be sent as follows:

1. online through the Your Say Yarra engagement website; or
2. hand delivered to Council's Municipal Office at 333 Bridge Road, Richmond; or

Any person requesting to be heard in support of their submission is entitled to be heard before Council (or its committee established by Council for this purpose) or be represented by a person acting on their behalf and will be notified of the time and date of the hearing. Anyone wishing to speak must clearly state this request in their written submission.

Following consideration of submissions, Council may resolve not to discontinue the Road or to discontinue the Road and then either retain or sell the former Road to the Owner. For more information on the proposal, please contact the Property Services team on [email protected]
