Promoting LGBITQA+ Inclusion and Wellbeing: Draft Rainbow Policy
Earlier this year we asked for your ideas on what should be included in the new Rainbow Policy. We used this feedback to inform the draft Rainbow Policy which is now available to review.
The draft Rainbow Policy outlines how Council will act to ensure the City of Yarra is a place where LGBITQA+ heritage and celebration are honoured, inclusion and participation are promoted, safer spaces are created for all, and wellbeing is embedded across our services and community life.
Since going out with our stage 1 consultation, we have decided to promote this document from a strategy to a policy. In doing so, we are raising the strategic intent of our Rainbow Strategy to a formal policy, which is a higher-level document within Council. This will provide long-term direction for our community and staff and clear guidelines for decision-making and action.
We now invite you to review the draft Rainbow Policy and let us know if you have any suggestions on ways we can improve this document.
