Draft Community Local Law to cut red tape for business

Yarra City Council has developed a draft Community Local Law that cuts red tape for businesses by removing permit requirements and introduces automatic permitting systems for some permits.

 

The draft also strengthens laws around waste, shopping trolleys, unsightly properties and ensures our streets are accessible to everyone.

 

We've also used this feedback to update the Footpath Trading and Parklet Policies.

 

The draft introduces key principle to guide how the Local Law works and aims to use plain language so as it is easier to understand.
