Donate your old phones: 16 Days of Activism
As part of 16 Days of Activism, Yarra City Council is partnering with DV Phone Safe
Yarra City Council is supporting 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence (25 November – 10 December) by partnering with charity DV Phone Safe for residents in Yarra to donate old phones in good condition.
People experiencing gender-based violence often have their phones taken or tracked. DV Phone Safe provides free mobile phones to gender-based violence victim/survivors, refurbishing your old phone into secure, untraceable lifelines enabling them access to support and to connect to family and friends.
Where: Yarra residents can drop off phones at Collingwood Town Hall Service Desk, Carlton Library Service Desk, and the Depot at Clifton Hill.
The fine print: You’ll need to reset your old phone before donating it and the DV Phone Safe Team are looking for phones that are an iPhone 6 or newer and any Android phones that work on 4G networks – Read more on the DV Phone Safe website.
