Council Seeks Community Feedback on Bastow 2 Soccer Pitch Upgrade Plans
Local residents and sporting clubs are being encouraged to have their say on proposed upgrades, with community consultation now underway.
Yarra City Council is proposing to install a new all-weather synthetic turf surface and updated fencing at the Bastow 2 soccer pitch at Kevin Bartlett Reserve, bringing the facility in line with Football Victoria guidelines. The upgrades are aimed at supporting inclusive, all-abilities access and increasing participation for local sporting clubs.
If approved, the new pitch would remain accessible for general recreation when not in use for sporting activities. However, it is expected the surface would be designated a dog-free zone to protect the synthetic turf.
All feedback received will be considered before a final decision is made on whether the upgrades will go ahead.
