Melbourne 9 is a collaborative partnership between nine Melbourne councils, including Yarra City Counil, who work together to advocate for projects and issues of common interest.

The nine councils are:
- Yarra City Council
- Melbourne
- Stonnington
- Port Phillip
- Moonee Valley
- Maribyrnong
- Merri-bek
- Hobsons Bay
- Darebin
The six strategic priorities of the M9 are:
- active transport
- affordable housing
- economic recovery
- community resilience
- waste and circular economy
- renewable energy
Within these priority areas, the M9 work together on advocacy campaigns and partnerships with government as well as sharing best practice across Greater Melbourne Councils.
