Between the weave

Saturday 17 November 2018 - Thursday 29 November 2018

Come along to the bi annual exhibition of Basketmakers of Victoria at Collingwood Gallery from Saturday 17 November to Thursday 29 November.

The official opening is on Saturday 17 November from 2pm to 4pm. All are welcome.

The exhibition is open from 11am to  4pm Monday to Thursdays, 11am to 8pm on Fridays, 10am to 8pm on Saturdays and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

Basket making is one of the oldest crafts. Baskets can be made anywhere and from practically anything. Living here in Australia’s “Garden State”
we have a wide variety of natural resources for basket making.

Basketmakers of Victoria are a non profit organisation established in 1986 and aim to develop and advance interest in the art and craft of applying basketry techniques. While principally focused on natural fibre basketry, they support eclectic interests, embracing traditional and contemporary practices and influences and push the boundaries of the art of basket making.

They maintain a permanent gallery and mount periodic exhibitions of work, conduct and host workshops and demonstrate at selected community events. Members work on their baskets, share ideas and techniques and assist each other.

Their cottage door welcomes everyone.
