Discovering the frogs of the Alphington wetland
Wednesday 24 October 2018
Join Waterwatch, the Merri Creek Management Committee and the City of Yarra Urban Biodiversity team for a night of frog discovery and a walk among the plants and animals of the beautiful Alphington wetlands.
There will be frog activities for the kids and live local wetlands animals to discover! Learn to recognise different frog calls and help collect important data for the frog census including using the Melbourne Water Frog Census app.
Our Urban Biodiversity team will provide a fascinating presentation on how the wetland helps reduce pollution to the nearby Yarra River, and our plans to retain and increase nearby biodiversity.
Families are most welcome.
Bookings are essential – register online with the Merri Creek Management Committee.
The event involves walking, at times in the rain, so please bring weather appropriate clothing for the event and sturdy walking shoes. Frogs love rain so don’t be put off by a rainy evening, this event will still go ahead.
