The Johnston Street Fiesta is one of Yarra’s much-loved cultural events — a vibrant celebration of heritage, tradition, music and food.
Now in its 48th year, it’s Australia’s largest Hispanic and Latin American festival and transforms Fitzroy’s Johnston Street into a lively hub of music, dance, food and community spirit. Head down to enjoy a weekend full of eating, dancing, live entertainment, craft stalls and some of the best local Hispanic and Latin American culture.

Best way to get there
Take tram route 96 to Nicholson and Johnson Streets, or route 11 to Brunswick and Nicholson Streets.

Accessibility features
There will be clearly marked drop-off areas and accessible toilets for all attendees. Footpaths will be kept clear for wheelchair and mobility scooter users.
Road closures and public transport
Road closures will be in place to facilitate the safe delivery of the Johnston Street Fiesta.
Bus services (Routes 200 and 207) will not operate along Johnston Street, between Nicholson and Brunswick Streets. Buses will be diverted for the whole weekend starting from 12.30am on Saturday 21 February until 5am on Monday 23 February. Visit the Public Transport Victoria website for all service changes.
Tow-away area
Johnston Street (between Nicholson and Brunswick Street) Fitzroy will be a tow-away area to facilitate the traffic management for the 2026 Johnston Street Fiesta. This tow-away area takes effect from:
- 6pm on Friday 20 February and
- expires at 5am on Monday 23 February.
