Yarra is committed to the principles of equity of access and compliance with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) in the provision of designated accessible parking for people with disabilities who live in, work in or visit the municipality.
You can apply for an accessible parking bay by having a valid accessible parking permit.
How to apply for an accessible parking bay?
To apply, please submit the accessible parking bay application [ PDF, 70.51 KB] form to [email protected].
Before you submit your application, please check your eligibility:
- If property has off-street parking, you will not be able to consider your accessible parking bay.
- The street must be at least 6.8 meters wide.
- The accessible parking permit holder is the driver of the vehicle, or they have a carer that lives at the same property.
If there are exceptional circumstances, these need to be submitted in writing to the Parking Management unit. They will consider your circumstances further.
What happens after I apply?
The Parking Management unit will assess the application in accordance with the Parking Restriction Guidelines [ PDF, 611.36 KB]
They will contact you throughout the assessment to keep you update on your application or if they need more information.
