Sorry Day 2023

Tuesday 23 May 2023

Stolen Generations Marker at Atherton Gardens

Join Blak Pearl Studios and Yarra City Council at the Stolen Generations Marker this Sorry Day to honour and commemorate the members of the Stolen Generations.

On National Sorry Day, we honour the members of the Stolen Generations forcibly removed from their families and reflect on this deeply painful part of Australia's history.

Stand in solidarity and join us at the Stolen Generations Marker at Atherton Gardens, Fitzroy in partnership with Blak Pearl Studios.

Led by our First Nations community, this event is an opportunity for everyone in Yarra to come together to show allyship and reflect on how we can all play a part in the healing process.

There will be food, music and yarns, as well as a smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country from Uncle Ringo Terrick and music by Amos Roach.
