The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is providing COVID-19 testing at the public housing estates in Richmond, Fitzroy and Collingwood, with support from Yarra City Council.

Face masks are also being provided to housing estate residents as a precautionary measure.

Testing at Richmond and Fitzroy estates began on 12 July, and testing at Collingwood estate also commenced on Friday (17 July).

During this time, Yarra Council has also been supporting housing estate residents with fresh food packages, hygiene and personal products as well as books and entertainment packs for children. We’ve been distributing around 100 of these packs every day, and we are focusing on those people who are unwell and need to isolate to protect the health of the community.

Our priority is the welfare and safety of all our residents during this pandemic. If you are a resident in one of the housing estates you can contact DHHS on 1800 675 398 for more information.

If you or someone you know speaks a language other than English, you can find translated information about COVID-19 in many languages.

Visit our Coronavirus information hub for more information about support available to the community during this time.
