Roof repair works soon to begin at Fitzroy Town Hall

Tuesday 23 May 2017

Works will soon begin on the second stage of works to repair the roof at Fitzroy Town Hall.

The works are expected to start in the first week of June and will involve replacing the slate tiles to ensure the roof is in good condition and water tight for the next 100+ years.

The works are expected to take 3 months to complete.

Works will take place mainly behind in the clock tower in the central section of the building, and above the main hall.

Scaffolding will be installed at the front of the building and at the rear of the building, off Moor Street.

Access to the Fitzroy Library and the front and back of the town hall will remain open during the works.

Works to the roof of the Collingwood Town Hall are continuing and scaffolding is expected to move to the front of the building at the end of May. The main entrance will stay open as usual.
