Emotionally Intelligent Parenting

Would you like to learn how to:

• be better at connecting with your child?
• be better at understanding your child?
• help your child learn to manage their emotions? 
• help to prevent behaviour problems in your child?
• teach your child to deal with conflict?

 TiK shows you how to help your child develop emotional intelligence.

Children with higher emotional intelligence:

• have greater success with making and keeping friends
• have better concentration at school
• are more able to calm down when upset or angry
• tend to have fewer childhood illnesses

Emotional intelligence may be a better predictor of academic and career success than IQ!

Tuning in to Kids (TiK) for Dads

The Family Services team at Yarra City Council are pleased to offer you the opportunity to attend our 7 session TiK program for Dads with children aged 4 – 10 years!

Dates  February 13, 20, 27 March 5, 12, 19, 26

Free

Places are limited and attendance at all session will enable a full understanding of the program.

Please note

This free program is provided with funding from Movember and The University of Melbourne and is part of a research project called ‘Scaling What Works’. Some information about the sessions will be collected as part of this research but will be generic in nature and will not identify any individuals. Your privacy is always protected. There is also a requirement for 2 anonymous surveys to be completed by attendees. Please be aware that acknowledgement and consent to this is a requirement of attending the session.

Tuning in to Teens (TinT)

Communities That Care Yarra and Relationships Australia, Victoria are pleased to offer you the opportunity to attend a 6 session TinT program for parents and carers of children aged 10 - 15 who live or study in Yarra

Day Thursdays
Time 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Dates February 15, 22, 29 March 7, 14, 21

Cost

$110 per person or $170 per caregiver pair
Free for Health Care Card holders
