    We're revitalising Swan Street

We want to hear your ideas on how we can make Richmond's Swan Street an even better place to visit, work and live. Help us create a new streetscape masterplan for the area by sharing your ideas at yoursayyarra.com.au/swanstreet The plan will look at improving things like footpaths, trees and landscaping, outdoor dining and seating, public art, and pedestrian accessibility and safety. The streetscape masterplan will aim to: • design high quality streetscapes and public spaces that are welcoming, fit for purpose, attractive, flexible, accessible, safe and long-lasting. • provide well considered design solutions that contribute to an area’s character, sense of place and identity. • make sure our designs are future proof, and will consider any other future projects (including those that we don't manage, like tram stop improvements). It won't look at changing private land, the actual road/traffic space of Swan Street, or nearby public transport stops and stations. Have your say before 5pm on Wednesday 12 May 2021 – there's no idea too big or small!
  • Yarra’s vision in view: resident panel to plan for our future

Yarra’s vision in view: resident panel to plan for a brighter future A representative community panel of 60 locals is set to meet this Thursday for the first of four workshops, bringing the City of Yarra one step closer to its first-ever community vision. The community vision will guide decision making about Yarra’s services and projects for the next 15 years, including its next four-year Council Plan. The community panel strongly reflects Yarra’s diverse community, with people from all walks of life to share their life experiences and views with each other. The first session will bring panellists together for a meet and greet, and to get to know their important task ahead. In the following sessions, they will share information and get to understand Yarra’s challenges. The panel will work together to draft their vision, and finally identify the priorities to achieve the vision. To respect the time and effort of the panel, Yarra Council has committed to receiving the community vision and adopting it as the panel provides it. The community panel builds upon extensive engagement with the broader Yarra community from November 2020 to January 2021. During this stage we heard from over 1,300 residents, businesses and visitors. Their feedback has also informed our proposed budget 2021/22, which is available for comment until Friday 21 May 2021. A plan for managing pets in Yarra

Calling on all pet owners (and non-pet owners) in Yarra! We’d love for you to have a say on our draft Domestic Animal Management Plan 2021-24, which helps us manage dogs and cats in our city. Your input will guide our approach to registration and desexing, how we handle stray or nuisance animals, overpopulation and education programs for locals. What does the plan do? We’re required by law to develop a Domestic Animal Management Plan every four years. It provides us with an important tool to promote responsible pet ownership in Yarra, and lets pet owners and residents know about their rights and responsibilities when it comes to our four-legged friends. Have your say You can share your thoughts on the draft document by: completing the feedback form below emailing [email protected] with the subject ‘Feedback on draft Domestic Animal Management Plan’ calling us on 9205 5555.
