Abbotsford Convent Farmers Market

Come along to the Abbotsford Convent on the fourth Saturday of every month for the Abbotsford Convent Farmers’ Market brought to you by Melbourne's Farmers Markets since Saturday 23 February 2019.

You can buy farm fresh and organic seasonal fruit, vegetables, seedlings, flowers, herbs, juices, breads, olive oil, eggs, rare breed and free range meat, chicken, fresh and smoked fish, homemade condiments and specialist cheeses direct from the growers.

The Abbotsford Convent Farmers Market is plastic bag free, so BYO trolley, basket or bags.

Fully accredited by the Victorian Farmers Market Association, the market brings a host of Victorian farmers and food producers supporting local agriculture.

It’s a welcome return to the Abbotsford Convent for Melbourne Farmers Markets (MFM), who have been in the St Heliers Street neighbourhood since the 1990’s, playing a significant part in the fight to save the precinct from development and establishing Melbourne’s first accredited farmers market next door at the Collingwood Children’s Farm.

Melbourne Farmers Markets connect Victorian farmers and food producers direct to seven neighbourhoods across Melbourne. The Convent is the final piece in a local weekly loop of accredited farmers markets in the City of Yarra including Collingwood Children’s Farm (second Saturday every month), and Carlton North Primary School (first and third Saturdays every month).

“We’re excited with the lineup of stall holders ready for the Abbotsford Convent Farmers Market on Saturday 23 February – many familiar faces continuing, icons like Holy Goat Cheese returning and new start-ups joining us,” says Miranda Sharp, founder of the not-for-profit Melbourne Farmers Markets. Market goers can expect to share in the seasonal spoils from:
