Amendment C237 - Johnston Street

What did the amendment do?

The amendment introduced interim built form controls that affect heights and setbacks of new buildings. The interim controls expire on 31 December 2019.

Specifically, the amendment:

  • Introduced Schedule 15 to the Design and Development Overlay (DDO15) on an interim basis whilst a full planning scheme amendment process (Amendment C220) is undertaken
  • Introduced an interim Heritage Overlay (HO505) to the section of Johnston Street, in between Hoddle Street and the railway bridge.
  • Listed the Johnston Street Local Area Plan as a reference document in the Yarra Planning Scheme.
