Amendment C261 - Interim Heritage Controls

This amendment has been prepared by the Yarra City Council and Minister for Planning is the planning authority for this amendment.

What will the amendment do?

The Amendment proposes to introduce heritage controls to the properties listed below on an interim basis, pending the outcome of a future planning scheme amendment.   It is required to protect places of local heritage significance from the potential for future demolition as they currently have no heritage protection but have been identified as having heritage significance

The Amendment also corrects the following expired interim HO by deleting it from the relevant map: HO508

The Amendment applies to the following properties:

  • 18-22 Derby Street, Collingwood
  • 33-45 Derby Street, Collingwood
  • 32-34 Thomas Street, Richmond
  • 202-206 Church Street, Richmond
  • 20 Charlotte Street, Richmond

What Happens Next?

The request has been lodged with the Minister for Planning.  If approved by the Minister the interims a notice will be placed in the government gazette and come into operation.  These amendments will be the subject of a further amendment to introduce permanent controls, which will be subject to a formal public exhibition process and potentially consideration by an independent planning panel appointed by the Minister for Planning.
