Yarra Youth Advocacy

The Yarra Youth Advocacy team will be a group of 10 young people passionate about identifying and addressing issues important to young people in the City of Yarra. They’ll be tasked with hosting forums and workshops which provide insights to Council and other key decision makers on how to best support young people. They’ll also bring their ideas to identified projects such as the 2023/24 Budget.

Alongside the ability to advocate on behalf of other young people, the Yarra Youth Advocacy team will have a chance to develop their own skills. This includes training in leadership, advocacy, facilitation and other interest areas for young people.

Finally, the Yarra Youth Advocacy team will also help empower other young people in the community by helping promote programs such as the Youth Led Grants and Yarra’s Community Awards.
