Tertiary work placements

Yarra Youth Services are committed to supporting future Youth Workers, Community Services and Social Workers to gain experience in their field. As a result, we offer several tertiary work placement opportunities each year.

Placement opportunities are advertised through universities and TAFE institutions during student placement intake periods. Position descriptions are developed for the types of placements we have on offer, which students are able to look through and apply for.

If you are interested in completing a tertiary work placement with Yarra Youth Services, please apply through your TAFE or University or submit an expression of interest on the Yarra City Council Careers Page.

Experience Yarra - work experience

Experience Yarra (secondary work experience) brings together Yarra City Council as an employer of choice and the secondary school students in a program designed to help young people understand the breadth and diversity of Yarra's service to community. This program supports a stronger career pathways for local young people.

Over the course of one week, various business units within Yarra City Council will open their doors to a select group of year 10 students and facilitate a work experience program which moves beyond the traditional model of work experience.
