Chemical goods disposal

Your household chemicals - such as fertiliser, herbicides, paints, solvents, pesticides and other toxic products - shouldn’t be put in your household bins or poured down the drain.

Where to take chemical items

Detox Your Home program

You can dispose of household chemicals safely at 'Detox Your Home' collection points organised by Sustainability Victoria for free.

Permanent locations

Paint, household batteries and fluorescent lighting can be dropped off year-round at one of the permanent Detox Your Home locations across Victoria. There is a list of locations on the Sustainability Victoria website. Registration is required.

Mobile service | Free drop-off events
